Gotta love the smell of beeswax

The first thing you'll notice when you open the box is that these candles smell _amazing_. Admittedly, I am biased as I love the smell of beeswax, and use it regularly in lots of stuff (woodworking, soap, food preserving, you name it). Each of these candles is a pretty decent size and mine weighed about 50g. Each one is a lovely brilliant orange-yellow color and have a slight taper from bottom to top. I've no doubt it'd be easy to find lots of places to set these up and will smell 10x better than anything you'd get out of a scented candle.

Nice Candles, Short Wick on Some

These candles are lovely. Beeswax is my favourite to burn, I only have unscented candles in my home these days.I've purchased plenty of them in the past and experimented with making my own, right down to braiding the wicks. I understand and appreciate the art of candle making. The wick is well placed and the candles are perfectly poured. However, I did find that some of the wicks were slightly shorter than they should be, preventing them from burning evenly, leaving extra wax at the end and reducing the burn time. For the price ($35 at the time of ordering=$5.85 per candle) I was hopeful the quality control would've been a bit better.Overall they're quite nice, they'd be perfect with some minor tweaking.

Canadian Hive - Pure Beeswax Votive Candles (6 pack)

I am in love with with these candles. They check all the boxes - small business, real beeswax, CANADIAN! They look, feel, and smell great. There is no mistaking that these are real beeswax candles. The votives also came thoughtfully packaged with a sweet note which I thought was a very nice touch. Burn time seems to be about average in my experience with this type of candle (i.e. not crazy long, but not bad)At the time of this review, this 6 pack is priced at $34.85CAD.If you are in the market for beeswax, I highly recommend.

Perfect flame

I absolutely love the Pure Canadian Beeswax Votives Candles from Canadian Hive.We don't often have candles at the table because of little ones but the night of the photo we were on our own and I pulled out these votives and was reminded of why I love them so much. Their flame is solid and perfect. I've included the fake candle in the background so you can see how solid and 'true' the flame is despite being organic, not plastic.I find the flame calming as it isn't moving all around. It holds my attention and draws me in. I can see why these candles are recommended for meditation. There is little odor from the candles (I only noticed a slight waxy honey smell when I blew them out) and there is no visible smoke while they are burning. These are a premium product, Canadian made, and worth it if you want to treat yourself.

Natural beeswax candles

Great candles made from Canadian beeswax. Love that they're dye free, natural, handmade and Canadian. They burn cleanly for quite a few hours, the ad claims up to 20 hrs and I'd say that's pretty accurate in our experience. They are a much better candle in both burn time and evenness than the cheaper brands we used in the past. They add a nice ambiance to our evenings in the sitting room. They are scent free but have a pleasant smell of the natural beeswax. This set came with 6 votive candles which I thought was a great deal. Our area tends to have a lot of power outages due to weather. So we like to have reliable candles on hand as part of our planning. Our test candle was used over the course of 2 weeks for a few hours every other day.

Beautiful Beeswax Votives

I received 6 pure beeswax votive candles. You could smell the scent of the beeswax as soon as I opened the box they came in. You need to provide your own votive holder and I recommend you get a smaller and more narrow one because otherwise the candle burns unevenly. The narrow votive holder provides support for the candle as it burns. I used it in a wider votive holder and I have a picture to show what happens. The scent is subtle, natural and the amber beeswax gives a gorgeous glow. I enjoy beeswax candles best of all. These didn’t smoke as they burned. They are made in Quebec, Canada. They are almost $6.00 each. You can easily split them up for hostess gifts combined with a votive holder. Truly lovely and natural. A pleasure to review.

Dye-Free Organic Beeswax Votive Candles – Handmade in Quebec - Very Light Scent

I love beeswax candles above all others! Beeswax burns cleanly and slowly, with a soft natural scent that comes straight from the nature. I ordered this set of six because beeswax is my favorite, it’s organic, and it supports a Canadian business. The candles arrive in a sturdy white box with the company name and logo, lightly wrapped by a couple of layers of tissue paper. No excessive inks or packaging - fitting for the natural simplicity of these candles. The cotton wick lights easily and burns at a gentle pace. ( Use the correct style holder for the votives. - "a snug-fitting, heat-safe glass or metal holder" ) Don't melt the candle in one hour like I just did...The scent is lighter than what I remember from other beeswax candles, though it becomes a bit more noticeable as the candle warms. It’s ideal for anyone sensitive to strong fragrances. This six-piece set makes a lovely gift for a friend or to self. Excellent quality and a thoughtful presentation.

Nice and light smell! Pricey.

Nice candles and they smell good! They have a mild beeswax smell that's very light and fresh. I understand smaller businesses need to charge more as they aren't mass produced, but I find them overpriced still for how long they burn. Over $6 each for a candle that size is quite a lot to pay regardless of what they are made out of. If price isnt a concern then go for it, they are great.

Pure and Canadian, eh!!

I didn't choose these Canadian Hive Votive candles for religious purposes, but because they are Canadian and made of beeswax. I no longer burn paraffin candles and will only use beeswax or soy. I love to have candles burning to create ambiance whether working in my dimly lit office or while curling up in my big armchair reading a book. These candles have a very soft scent that doesn't overpower and I love this fact. What I did find is that they burn a bit quicker than some of my other candles. The wicks are easy to light and they have a steady burn right to the end. Since I don't normally burn Votive candles, I had to find a larger tealight candle holder to accommodate it.

Great example of you get what you pay for. Buy Canadian!

This product arrived the next day via Amazon Prime and was packaged in simple cardboard during shipping.PROS-I used these recently at a dinner party and they were perfect; easy to light, long lasting and indeed smoke-free. I was able to place them in some tealight holders.-If you want these to really last you longer and to minimize drips, I recommend freezing them overnight beforehand.-These perform much better than my bulk tealights from the dollar store which not only burn out within a few hours but don't smell particularly nice.-They may be too nice to burn and actually make a nice decorative option.-Given that so many candles now are rechargeable LEDs, solar powered, or scented in a variety of ways, it is nice to have some good, old-fashioned products once in a while.-Canada Hive makes great products! I have also tried their pillar candles and their candle sticks. Check out their other variants and sizes.-Quebec based company --- buy Canadian!-Love the plastic free packaging.CONS-At $39 CAD for 6 units, this is not an inexpensive item but I think most everyone would be pleased with the quality of this product.-Perhaps offer these in bulk sizes to provide more value.

Golden glow, real beeswax smell, totally worth it

I’ve bought several candles in different sizes from this brand now and I’m impressed everyyyy single time. These votives are no different. As soon as you open the box you smell the real beeswax, which is deliciously warm and slightly sweet, not fake or perfumey at all. Compared to other beeswax candles I’ve tried from different suppliers, these are way more golden/orangey and the scent is much stronger. They burn clean and steady, whereas sometimes i've found with candles they burn unevenly on one side. The soft amber glow is beautiful too. You can tell they’re made with care and not mass-produced. For $35 for 6, the quality really shows, especially when you’ve tried other “beeswax” candles that don’t come close.

Top Quality Beeswax Candles + Super Long Burn-Time + They Smell Heavenly

The media could not be loaded.

This is the third set of candles I have ordered from Canadian Hive and I am a *big* fan.All of their products are thoughtfully packaged and arrive with a sweet little thank you note from the makers (and the bees!)Previously I have tried Canadian Hive's tall tapers and tealights - both of which are absolutely stellar... and these votives are no exception.~ Foremost - they smell incredible - as soon as you open the box you're met with that sweet, luscious beeswax aroma - which is just intoxicating. The wax is made by Quebec bees who collect wildflower nectar and i swear you can smell the flowers in these ~ just absolutely heavenly scent.I try and only burn beeswax candles given that they are natural and actually have therapeutic properties ( due to their release of negative ions - which, in effect, cleanse indoor air by neutralizing pollutants, allergens, and airborne toxins..)Most candles are filled with nasty and harmful synthetic fragrance so for scent-sensitive individuals - these are a superior choice. One of the best parts about beeswax is the warm glow they give when you burn them - even just one candle can create a cozier ambience. In my experience high quality beeswax candles burn for a very long time - and these votives burned for roughly 12 hours initially - and then another 4 after being extinguished and re-lit.Even in my slightly breezy space - they upheld impressive burn time. Some tips for burning beeswax:You should definitely place your candle in a holder or somewhere where it is protected from wind - the first one i lit out in the open without thinking to turn off my fan and it ended up leaking a majority of its wax out the side and then burned unevenly the rest of the duration. This is entirely my fault. Don't be like me.Secondly if you want to ensure stable, longer burn times try storing your beeswax candles in the fridge or freezer - I find this really helps extend the burn time.It should maybe be mentioned as well that online markets are now full of 'fake' beeswax (which is essentially a petroleum-derived wax that is meant to mimic the properties of natural, real beeswax ) - so if that's something you're concerned about - these are absolutely *not that* - they're the real deal. Top quality beeswax candles. Consistently good with every product i've tried. What I love the most is that you can tell these were made by hand, by people who hold reverence for the bees who create the wax. You can really feel that in the end product and in my opinion this makes such a difference in quality.Excellent product - 5 stars.

Beeswax candles and smell lovely. No holder included.

These are nice votive candles made of beeswax and you can smell it soon as you open up the box. I added one to a votive glass and it fit pretty snug inside. The candle doesn't really smoke and has a nice flame to it. Kind of glows. They look and feel well made and can tell they are made of beeswax which is great. This package seems a bit pricey for 6 candles but they also seem to burn slower so they should last longer in the end.
