Nice long lasting drippless, smokeless natural candles which have no artificials scents added.

These are nice natural candles. I appreciate the fact that they do not have any added scents to them. Made of natural beeswax, you can't see any smoke, so I'd call them smokeless. The scent is very mild, of natural beeswax. They seem to burn for a very long time. We lit one for about 2 hours over supper the other day, and even after 2 hrs, it had barely made a dent in the candle and absolutely no drips. The wick is nice and thick, so it does not struggle to stay lit. They come nicely packaged in a sturdy white cardboard box with plenty of tissue paper to protect them. Unfortunately one of the candles I received was broken. Probably happened during packing. It seems to still hold together and sits upright when in a holder, so I will decide if I just try to burn it as a whole, or just cut it when it broke, and make 2 smaller candles. One nice touch is the formed base which is designed to nicely fit in most candle holders firmly.

Beeswax Candles Made Beautifully

This package of four handcrafted beeswax candles were a pleasure to review. The smell is intoxicating. I love the smell of beeswax. The colour, length and shape of these candles are just right. The bottom of the candles is made thicker and I had no problem getting them to fit a standard candle holder. The sizes of candle holders do vary so you might need to use a fixative. The ends of the candles that you light are like a pencil point and the colour is a lovely golden colour. These would be perfect for Autumn or for warm tones. These would make a nice hostess gift.I loved these and it’s nice to be able to support a Canadian company.

What
The natural beeswax smells amazing!!

YUMMMM. These candles smell so good straight out of the box! They have a nice, warm, natural waxy smell, which is really calming and pleasant.I have scent sensitivities so I can't stand most candles, especially the ones that are doused in perfume or have that fake plasticky smell. These beeswax candles are the real deal, and smell how wax was meant to smell: a light and natural aroma, with a just a hint of honey. It's subtle, but so nice.I found them to have a good burn time, and they give the room a warm cosy feel. They would actually make a lovely gift. You can tell they are genuine beeswax and of a high quality. And they're made in Canada!! (How rare is that, eh?)I actually love these candles and will have to buy more!!

Beautiful but a bit expensive

These are beautiful candles but only 4 pieces in the box (not 8 like in the photo). They burn slowly and beautifully, takes a full day to finish one candle. I started one first thing in the morning and it was still going at 10pm. However, they cost almost $10 dollars a piece and, for me, me a box lasts less than a week or two weekends if I burn all day. It’s nice to support Canadian businesses but I find it a bit expensive with no option to buy more for a lower price.

Truly drip free, fit well into candle holders, a 10/10 handmade candle

I could not love these candles more. As someone who has made great efforts to remove unnecessary chemicals and fragrances from my home beeswax candles are the amazing saving grace for me as I love candles. These fit well into my candle stands(thanks to the wider bottoms of the candles) and burned evenly WITHOUT DRIPS. Honestly I was shocked that they genuinely were drip free and did not cause any mess on my dining room table. The fact that these also are handmade in Canada makes them a great sell for me. I burned them throughout a thanksgiving dinner and I definitely many more uses out of them and can barely see a dent in their length.

Great quality candles but I find them a bit expensive

This product arrived the next day via Amazon Prime and was packaged in simple cardboard during shipping.PROS-I used these recently at a dinner party and they were perfect; easy to light, long lasting and indeed smoke-free.-If you want these to really last you longer and to minimize drips, I recommend freezing them overnight beforehand.-These perform much better than my fancy dinner candles.-They may be too nice to burn and actually make a nice decorative option.-Given that so many candles now are rechargeable LEDs, solar powered, or scented in a variety of ways, it is nice to have some good, old-fashioned products once in a while.CONS-At $33 CAD for 4 units, this is not an inexpensive item.-I wish these came in other variants and sizes.-Perhaps offer these in bulk sizes to provide more value.

Great quality

These are really nice beeswax candles for a reasonable price. They are 100% beeswax and smell lovely. They burn cleanly with no smoke or dripping. I use them on my kitchen table and haven't had any issues with them dripping onto the wood surface. They're a classic shape and size and fit well in my taper holders. I appreciate that they’re organic and eco-friendly too. They're reasonably priced for the quality, and even better if you can get them on sale.

Good quality beeswax candles

Couldn't really think of any cons for these - they're exactly as described- The candle is made from (what I'm pretty sure is) beeswax- The wick is good quality - not some thin/cheap cord- The candles burn for hours and are smokelessNo issues from my end when burning these!

Made in Quebec

Happy to support local even through Amazon. I switched to beeswax only candles a few years ago as they are the safest healthiest choice if you're going to burn candles. These are well made, burn nicely and evenly, no hollows, and they have that nice beeswax smell. The color in person is a little more greeny yellow and not quite the orangy yellow of the picture, still lovely candles, totally recommend.

Nicely made, plus its made in Canada

Nice candles, quality is there. Each candle provides many hours of burn time. Made very well and it's clear that care has been taken in their creation. When opening the box one gets that nice natural scent of beeswax which I enjoy. Also this is made in Canada which is one of the reasons I picked these. Happy I did. They do melt while burning so care to have them in a holder or a saucer under them would be ideal, there was no smoke though. They are tapered at the bottom to fit into your candle holders better. If you're looking for a gift for someone, or for your own enjoyment at home, you won't be disappointed with this set.I will buy these again.

Usually happy
Very nice beeswax scent and they burn properly

This is our third order of candles from this company. Still well pleased.Beeswax candles are simply the best. NO toxic chemicals, virtually no soot, and a calming scent even when they aren't lit.For several years, I have been making our own candles from beeswax, mostly from the wax we collect from our own bees when extracting honey. It is one of the most calming scents I can think of, at least for me. Even when not burning, just sitting on a tabletop top the wax gives off a mild scent that is so easy to recognize.► The yellow colour and scent are natural. When bees make the comb that is used to store honey, pollen, and brood, it's mostly white the first year. In the second and subsequent years, it takes on more of a yellow colour and gets darker. The colour of wax in these candles is more like that of a comb that's been used for a couple of years.👀 Not a well-known fact, beeswax can be eaten. It's made from the same stuff the bees gather to make honey. Just never eat too much, as it could clog.► Another upside to beeswax candles, besides not making any chemical pollution, is that they burn longer than other wax options when candles have the same dimensions. In addition to collecting our own wax, I have also bought it from various sources, including the bee supply store that's local to us. It's never cheap, so the price of these candles, when I ordered, they were selling for $33.85, isn't a surprise. Due to declining bee populations, primarily caused by the use of chemicals on crops, there has been a shortage of honey and wax.One thing about candles that's important, the wick used needs to match the width of the wax. If it's not properly matched, the wax can burn too fast or too slow, which makes the candle drip more than it burns, making a mess or burn down the center too fast, which then floods the flame, causing black soot. Making decent candles is an art.► When the wick used is correct, the flame is a nice consistency and produces no soot; it's a nice clean burn. All that said, these are very nice candles that have a nice scent and burn properly. One last point here, as with all of the candles we got from this company, these are made in Canada with Canadian beeswax. There may be cheaper options when candles are made with beeswax from various other countries. Support Canadian beekeepers first and get the best products.

I am thoroughly impressed with the Canadian Hive 10" Beeswax Tapers. These candles have transformed my prayer area into a serene and soot-free sanctuary. Handcrafted in Canada from pure Canadian beeswax, they burn with a consistent and radiant flame that never drips or produces any soot, which is precisely what I needed for my quiet moments. These tapers are a testament to the care and craftsmanship that goes into each one, making them a wonderful choice for anyone seeking a pure and calming candle experience.

Surface inspection - Seem like the real deal beeswax - Quebec company

Arrived in a cardboard box with company branding on it. Inside, 4 candles were packed in a 'square' stack and double wrapped in the kind of tissue paper that doesn't have lint that candle wax can stick to.The aroma of real beeswax is there the moment you open the box. That honey-sweet aroma mixed with well..beeswax.Once unwrapped, all 4 candles arrived unbroken and have a deep gold natural 'translucent' beeswax colour and that naturally 'tacky' and slightly soft feel. The fingernail test also seems like beeswax. Natural cotton wicks appear to have been used, down to the bottom of the candle length, so I can see why the burn continues down into the last gasps of a puddle. The 4 candles are mold-formed with candle holder-shaped bases.Company "Canadian Hive" claims to be in Quebec, so another plus.Real beeswax is going to cost more than paraffin or mixes.
