I love that these candles come from a small Canadian shop and are made from real beeswax — no chemicals or toxic dyes, so I don’t have to worry about what’s being released into the air when I burn them. They’re much thinner than standard taper candles, more like extra-long birthday candles, but that actually makes them charming. I can’t wait to add them to my fall tablescape. No-drip, smoke-less, and beautifully crafted — highly recommend!

These Canadian 100% Pure Beeswax Candles sold by Canadian Hive solved a problem I’ve had for years.These slim candles would normally be used for a vesper service or something similar. I’ve needed slim candles like these for years to fit in glass block candle holders I bought in Sweden at their well known flat-pack store. I came across them in sets of 4 with eight candles included, on clearance, for the equivalent of a loonie. I picked up two, brought them home and eventually discovered the Canadian outlet of the store never sold the original holders, let alone replacement candles.Over the years, I’ve learned that the candles from Christmas Eve are perfect, but those are not easily obtained and to buy a box for myself means purchasing 100 at a time.With these I have the advantage of pure beeswax with its clear, non-smoky flame. The candles, despite being so thin, burn at a rate of about 1” per hour. I’m looking forward to finally being able to use all of those candle holders at one time once more.

These beeswax candles are beautifully hand crafted and have that warm honey smell straight out of the box!My favourite things about these candles are that they are made by beekeepers, local to Canada, and created in a way that is both sustainable and ethical. They also burn beautifully with no smoke, are drip free, and last for hours.They are smaller than regular sized taper candles but I found that to be clearly indicated by the images and description. I included a photo with a regular sized taper candle for comparison in case anyone else is unsure of the size of these.Overall, very happy with the quality of these candles and will be purchasing again to support a local Canadian small business!

I was genuinely impressed with these candles.They came very nicely packaged and protected from any damage during transport. Bundled and tied together with a thin piece of jute. The put in a nice sturdy box with some thin paper to protect and cushion them.Wife loves the smell, and the are nice and tapered from slightly thicker at the bottom and slightly thinner at the top. We lit one today over supper, and the wick is a not too thin, so it holds a nice flame. And it does not smoke or stink up the house when they are burned.The fact that they are Canadian made (locally in Quebec), is also great.Overall, nice candles with pure ingredients and no artificial chemicals or smells.

These 100% beeswax candles are beautiful. From the moment I opened them I felt like I was getting a gift from a friend. They were tied together with a string and bow and wrapped gently in tissue paper. The subtle smell of honey was a lovely as I opening these candles. They are long and thin. Each candle is smooth, and you can see the care that went into making each one. It was a bonus these candles came from a Canadian company. I didn't purchase these for religious reasons, I purchased these to have on hand in case the power goes out. Being dripless and smokeless made these candles an additional win for me. I would happily purchase these again and I look forward to seeing what else this company has to offer.

I only intend to list what is not already mentioned in the seller description except for reviewing how true I feel those claims are.I am content in giving these candles 5 stars for the quality and the price. This is the second set of candles that I have received from Canadian Hive and a lot of the things that I felt about the first set which I take as a sign of consistency in production. What I will say right upfront is that these feel so special.The truth is that you could easily go to a Greek store or whenever you buy Orthodox supplies and pick up a dozen for something like 5 dollars CAD, but these are something different. You can't measure that, but it evokes a sense of being favoured by receiving a gift made from the heart. They arrived well packed in a box with wrapping paper and tied with a length of waxed string and a kind message from the company. Really an elegant gift if you can afford it.This 12 pack is longer but thinner than the 10pack (which is 23cm) but gram for gram it seems to be almost the same amount of wax used in the other set despite being about 8 dollars less. These will obviously melt much faster and they are very delicate to handle. so they do run the risk of deforming or even snapping you aren't careful.I am kind've confused as to why Amazon lists candles from this company as having a high return rate, I can't really see what the issue would be besides just not feeling like you are getting enough product for the price. If these were generic I would agree completely, but they are premium, caringly and carefully made from beautiful beeswax that has no foul smell and burns long enough.If you are meaning to use these for everyday devotion then yes it is going to be an expensive habit, so maybe reserve them for special dedications. All in all I am very happy with these except that I don't really have a candle holder for this narrow diameter, so you will have to stick it down with some wax if you are not intending to put them in sand.Proud to know that a Canadian company has taken this initiate to create these beautiful, chemical free, sustainable Canadian beeswax candles.

These are incredibly skinny candles, so it's a good thing they don't drip because odds are you won't have a holder as recommended by the inside of the cardboard box they're shipping in.They're beautiful, and the candle itself (not when it's burning, but maybe my nose just isn't sensitive enough) smells nice if you put it up to your nose, and you're supporting a Canadian business and more importantly real bees!I think that's the obvious selling point here since you could get other candles for quite a bit cheaper...If you want bees wax because bees are near and dear to your heart, or maybe you just don't want wax to drip all over the place, I'd absolutely recommend these. Just bear in mind how skinny they are, because they're really quite thin...5/5, nice job, bees!

This company is doing a great job of making real beeswax candles in the traditional styles at a fair price. They smell amazing. Recommended!

They arrived in a simple white box wrapped in simple brown tissue paper then tied in a bundle of 12 beeswax candles. The fact that they are 100% pure Canadian beeswax is appealing. We love the beautiful scent of the natural beeswax. We knew that they would be quite narrow but that's not an issue. We just need to check out some candle holders that we have tucked away. We are waiting to use them until that time. We also love the appropriate name for the company. These candles are perfect for home use or to give as a gift. These candles look and smell fantastic. The beeswax gives them a lovely smell, and unlike other waxes, they don’t drip or create a mess while burning. Big plus there.I didn't realize how narrow they were when I ordered them, they are closer to long birthday candles than the typical tapered kind. Because of that, they burn more quickly and don’t fit standard candle holders. I had to make a quick trip to the dollar store to get holders that worked.Once they were in place, the ambiance was on point. Looked really nice in the living room for a subtle romantic evening or special occasion.Overall, they’re great for special occasions or decor, but keep in mind the size and burn rate if you're planning a longer use.

Awaiting the arrival of this collection of candles, I was concerned that the hot weather of mid-summer might damage them during shipping, but in fact they are in perfect condition. This is (to me) very impressive, because I believe the candles were in transit during a Heat Warning period.The sweet, light, natural fragrance of the beeswax was apparent even before we opened the box.The candles are tall, slender, and elegantly perfect for decorating a dinner table or mantel top. Unfortunately, in my case, the candles are too slender to fit any of my current candle holders. This is entirely on me, because even though I saw the sizes as given on the product page, I made the mistake of assuming that these candles would conform to the "standard" size of most. Just be aware that these are considerably narrower in diameter than most candles. For trial purposes, I was able to make a pair of the candles fit my holders by wrapping the bases in strips of paper -- not a practice I recommend for regular use.They burn down fairly quickly, compared to those same, regulat candles. Since this is my first personal experience with beeswax candles, I don't know if that quick burning is the result of the narrow diameter, or simply a characteristic of beeswax.I am very pleased that these candles are made in Canada, but embarrassed by the appearance of the company name on the box. To me, it is an obvious but failed attempt at cuteness, with its childish mix of small and capital letters, and improperly formed letters. There are so many better ways to make a label or heading appear interesting and memorable.With twelve candles in this supply, there are enough that I can keep a few for my own enjoyment, and still give a few to family and friends. And I think I will copy the rustic, twine bundling method for gift-giving. I think this is a good and very nice product.

Just a little heads-up: these tapers are a bit slimmer than regular ones. Standard taper candles are usually about 7/8 inch (22mm) in diameter, while these are 1.3 cm (roughly 1/2 inch) in diameter and 23 cm in length. So, before you order, it's a good idea to quickly check your candleholders to ensure a perfect fit!

Candles were smaller than I thought. But worked well for Mass on Feb 2nd when parishioners forgot a candle. No guard needed as no dripping No scent to offend sensitive noses.
